Why you should join our team at Insider?
Insider Inc history goes back to 2007 when it was established with 20 news per day under name Silicon Alley. Quickly it begun and The Business Insider was launched on 2009. In last years we began to operate under Insider Inc and we launched insider.com.
I begun to working in February 2018, my team was only 4 engineers and I was hired as Software Engineer. Over last 3 years team grow to 15 years engineers. Currently I am working as Tech Lead for the team. Overall Product and Team team was below 50 people and now we have over 100 people. And we are still hiring.
Now let us come to the main point. Why you should join?
First thing I would say our team is awesome. The strength of our team is communication. All the thing we achieved is because of the good collaboration we had. We discuss everything, we talk about everything and we decide everything together.
When I joined the company we had a giant monolith application. New VP, Alex Charalambides joined to get our Tech to the next level. Currently, he is working as CTO.
New engineers joined our team in short term. We began to develop a new application for our main website.
The team I am working in is focused on building services for Subscription and Identity Management.
We ended up building 5 new macro services and over 30 microservices to support our future goals.
We are using NodeJS as our backend programming language and we have some services written in the Go language.
We are writing a lot of tests, making a lot of documentation so any engineer we hire can catch up and get onboarded very easily.
You have a lot of space to implement your ideas and contribute to current codebases.
My opinion
So far I can say I have made the best decision in my life to work at Insider. Life and work balance in a company is well protected.
The company provides unlimited vacation and the ability to choose between remote and in-office employment.
Of course, you can visit the office whenever you want. The office has an awesome snack bar with soft drinks and a lot of coffee.
